‘:Partnering with WSRO: Scaling STEM Impact Across Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad is home to two of India’s largest robotics organizations, and this season, we had the privilege of transforming that opportunity into meaningful impact by partnering with WSRO (World STEM & Robotics Organization). This collaboration became a powerful platform to promote FIRST and the FIRST Tech Challenge, while expanding access to hands-on STEM education across the city.

Through joint workshops, demonstrations, and discussions, we showcased our robot and engaged with hundreds of students and mentors, introducing them to FIRST’s core values of innovation, teamwork, and real-world impact. These interactions encouraged many students to view FIRST not just as a competition, but as their next step in STEM learning.

As an official WSRO workshop partner, our outreach extended across six schools, where we conducted engaging activities such as balloon car challenges and LEGO robotics workshops. These sessions reached 460+ students, giving them an opportunity to learn engineering concepts through creativity and play. From understanding basic mechanics to teamwork and iteration, students experienced the joy of building and problem-solving firsthand.

Beyond school visits, WSRO’s platform amplified our reach even further. Through WSRO social media and events, our initiatives connected with 1,500+ people, and the upcoming season is expected to see participation from 10+ teams, inspired through this collaboration.

Mentorship remained a core focus of our partnership. We mentored five line-following teams and two balloon car teams from Vishwaniketan School, guiding them through design, testing, and optimization. The results spoke for themselves—line-following teams secured 2nd to 5th places and qualified for Nationals, while the balloon car teams, though not placing, demonstrated outstanding creativity, perseverance, and learning.

Our outreach spanned a diverse range of schools including Lakshya International School, Adhyashakti School, Nutan English School, Vishwaniketan, Shanti Asiatic School, and National School, impacting students across different age groups and backgrounds—many of them experiencing structured robotics education for the first time.

This partnership with WSRO reinforced a belief we strongly hold: when ecosystems collaborate, impact multiplies. By combining WSRO’s outreach network with FIRST’s values and our team’s mentorship, we didn’t just run workshops—we built pathways for students to discover engineering, confidence, and possibility.

As we continue to grow, partnerships like these drive us forward—turning curiosity into capability and classrooms into launchpads for future innovators.
