Exploring Future Pathways: Introducing FIRST Career Opportunities at DPS Bopal

Understanding career pathways early can shape the choices students make in the years to come. With this goal in mind, we, Gujarat Tech Titans (GTT), conducted an outreach session for Grades 10–12 students at DPS Bopal, introducing them to the wide range of career and learning opportunities offered through FIRST.

During the session, we explained how FIRST goes beyond robotics competitions—serving as a platform that builds real-world skills such as engineering design, programming, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving. Students learned how participation in FIRST programs can strengthen college applications, open doors to global internships, and provide exposure to industry-relevant technologies.

We also highlighted how FIRST connects students to STEM career pathways, including robotics, artificial intelligence, mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, data science, entrepreneurship, and research. By sharing our own experiences as an FTC team, we demonstrated how hands-on projects, mentorship, and competition environments mirror professional engineering workflows.

A key focus of the session was showcasing the long-term impact of FIRST, including access to scholarships, international networking, leadership development, and recognition by universities and industry professionals worldwide. Students were encouraged to view FIRST not just as a competition, but as a launchpad for future careers in technology and innovation.

The interaction with DPS Bopal students was engaging and insightful, with thoughtful questions about college pathways, skill development, and global opportunities. This outreach strengthened our mission to guide students toward informed career choices while inspiring them to explore STEM through experiential learning.

By introducing senior school students to the possibilities within FIRST, we aim to empower them to make confident, future-ready decisions—bridging the gap between education and real-world careers.
