Building Our Identity: Learning the Power of Branding from Team Because

In robotics, success isn’t driven by engineering alone—it’s also shaped by how a team communicates its mission, values, and impact. Recognising this, we took a step beyond the workshop and visited Team Because, seeking guidance on how to better represent who we are and what we stand for.

During our visit, Team Because generously shared their expertise in branding and outreach, helping us refine key aspects of our team identity. From improving our logo design to strengthening our content strategy, they showed us how clear storytelling and consistent visuals can amplify a team’s voice within the FTC community.

We learned how thoughtful branding plays a crucial role in outreach—making it easier to connect with students, mentors, sponsors, and the broader STEM ecosystem. With their support, we gained valuable insights into presenting our work more effectively, aligning our messaging with FIRST values, and building a recognisable and professional FTC presence.

The impact of this mentorship was immediate. Our refined branding has enhanced our outreach initiatives, improved engagement across platforms, and helped us communicate our journey with greater clarity and confidence. More importantly, it reminded us that collaboration within the FTC community strengthens everyone involved.

We’re grateful to Team Because for their guidance and generosity. Their support not only improved our visual identity—it empowered us to tell our story better, reach further, and represent FTC with pride.

Because in FIRST, learning doesn’t stop at the robot—it extends to every skill that helps ideas travel farther.
